Program Overview

Entrepreneurship on Canada's Island Province

Prince Edward Island (PEI) operates the Business Impact Category under its Provincial Nominee Program. The stream invites business owners and senior managers to establish or purchase a business on the island and secure permanent residence.

Charlottetown — the island's capital — regularly ranks among the most liveable small cities in Canada. Real estate is affordable, schools are strong, and the island attracts a growing immigrant community.

Key Advantage: PEI offers one of the lowest cost-of-entry thresholds in Canadian business immigration — accessible to entrepreneurs with more modest capital who meet experience requirements.

Program notes:

  • Applicants must intend to settle and operate on PEI
  • A Business Exploration Visit is strongly encouraged
  • Sector restrictions: pyramid schemes, adult entertainment, firearms ineligible
